PM Modi to Flag Off Vande Bharat Express, Inaugurate Yellow Line Metro in Bengaluru This Sunday

Bengaluru is set to witness a significant boost in its transport infrastructure as Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit the city on Sunday to launch two major projects—the Vande Bharat Express and the Yellow Line of Namma Metro. The visit is part of the Centre’s ongoing push to enhance connectivity and modernize urban mobility across India.

According to official sources, the Prime Minister will flag off the new Vande Bharat Express, which will connect Bengaluru to a key intercity route, reducing travel time and offering world-class passenger amenities. Equipped with modern seating, improved safety features, and high-speed capabilities, the semi-high-speed train is expected to attract both business and leisure travelers.

In addition, PM Modi will inaugurate the Yellow Line of the Namma Metro, a highly anticipated expansion that will connect R.V. Road to Bommasandra. Spanning over 18 kilometers and covering several important residential and industrial hubs, the Yellow Line is expected to significantly ease traffic congestion and improve last-mile connectivity for commuters in the southern parts of the city.

Elaborate security arrangements have been put in place for the Prime Minister’s visit, with traffic advisories already issued for affected routes. Officials have urged the public to plan their travel accordingly on Sunday to avoid inconvenience.

The double launch is being seen as a milestone moment for Bengaluru’s transport sector. While the Vande Bharat Express promises faster and more comfortable intercity travel, the Yellow Line Metro is expected to transform daily commuting within the city. Together, these projects highlight the government’s focus on developing integrated transport solutions for one of India’s fastest-growing metropolitan regions.

With these inaugurations, Bengaluru takes another step towards becoming a more connected, commuter-friendly city—blending speed, efficiency, and modern infrastructure to meet the demands of its rapidly expanding population.
