VinFast Expands Its Global Footprint

Vietnamese EV manufacturer VinFast has officially launched its much-awaited electric SUVs, the VF6 and VF7, in India. With this debut, the brand aims to tap into the country’s rapidly growing electric vehicle market while competing with established players like Hyundai, Tata, and MG.

Price and Variants

The company has introduced both models at aggressive pricing to appeal to Indian buyers. The VinFast VF6 starts at around ₹27 lakh (ex-showroom), while the larger VinFast VF7 carries a price tag of ₹35 lakh (ex-showroom). Both SUVs will be available in multiple trims, offering buyers flexibility in features and performance levels.

Design Highlights

Both the VF6 and VF7 carry VinFast’s signature futuristic design language, blending sleek lines with sporty accents. The VF6 is a compact electric SUV, making it an ideal option for urban users, whereas the VF7 takes on a more premium mid-size SUV stance with a bolder front grille, LED lighting setup, and coupe-inspired roofline.

Performance and Range

  • VinFast VF6: Equipped with a single motor setup, it delivers up to 174 bhp with a driving range of nearly 400 km on a single charge.
  • VinFast VF7: Offered in both single and dual-motor variants, the VF7 churns out up to 348 bhp with an extended range of 450 km, making it a stronger competitor in the premium EV space.

Features and Technology

VinFast has packed both SUVs with modern-day technology, including:

  • A large infotainment touchscreen with AI-based voice control
  • Over-the-air (OTA) software updates
  • Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) such as adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, and automated emergency braking
  • Spacious cabin with premium upholstery and panoramic sunroof (in VF7)

Charging Support

Both models support fast charging, allowing 10-80% top-ups in under 40 minutes. VinFast also announced plans to expand its charging network in India in collaboration with local partners.

With the launch of the VF6 and VF7, VinFast has taken a bold step into India’s EV market. Their competitive pricing, futuristic design, and feature-rich packages could make them a compelling choice for buyers seeking alternatives to existing players.
